Questions & answers

Answers to the questions patients and families ask most. If yours isn't here, send a WhatsApp message or call. We're happy to help.

Booking

How do I book an appointment?

The quickest way is WhatsApp. Tap "Book on WhatsApp" on any page, choose the clinic that is easier for you, and send the message. You can also call either clinic.

Which clinic should I choose?

Dr. Rifat practises at Clover Silver Medical Centre in Mirdif and Clover Medical Centre in Al Nahda 2. Choose whichever is easier for you to reach.

Can I book for my parent or my child?

Yes. Many of our appointments are booked by parents, sons, daughters and carers. Please tell us the patient's age, any mobility or sensory needs, and the main concern.

Do you accept insurance?

Each clinic accepts different insurance plans. See the clinic pages for details, or ask us when you book.

Your visit

Can I come into the treatment room?

Yes. Family members and carers are welcome and are often a great help, especially for children, and for patients with anxiety, autism or memory problems.

How long is the first appointment?

Allow about 45 minutes to an hour, including time to talk. If the patient tires easily, tell us and we will plan a shorter visit.

What languages does Dr. Rifat speak?

English, Urdu, Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi, with conversational Arabic.

Access and home visits

Do you offer home visits?

Not at the moment. All appointments are at the clinics, where Dr. Rifat has full clinical equipment to treat safely. Tell us about any mobility needs when you book and we'll plan the visit around them.

Are the clinics wheelchair accessible?

Tell us about any mobility needs, including a wheelchair, when you book. We will plan the visit with you, including the best clinic and appointment time.

Treatment

Is my parent too old for dental treatment?

No. Age alone is never a reason to avoid dental care. Dr. Rifat plans treatment around a person's health and wishes, not their age.

Is Dr. Rifat a specialist?

Dr. Rifat is a DHA-licensed General Dentist with a Master's degree in Dental Medicine for the Medically Complex (Geriatric Dentistry) from the University of Southern California, completed with distinction. In 2026 she became the sole UAE-based recipient of the IDA-AGeD Fellowship in Geriatric Dentistry. Her practice focuses on older adults, anxious patients, and children and adults with special needs or complex medical conditions.

Dental care for older adults

My mother takes blood thinners. Is treatment safe?

Usually, yes. Bring a full list of medicines to the first visit. Dr. Rifat will plan safe treatment and, if needed, speak with the patient's doctor first.

Can I come into the treatment room with my father?

Yes. Family members and carers are welcome and are often a great help.

My child is autistic. Can Dr. Rifat help?

Yes. Dr. Rifat cares for autistic children and adults, and for people with Down syndrome, ADHD, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. When you book, tell us about the patient's routines, sensitivities and what helps them feel calm, and she will plan the visit around them.

We've been told the case is too complicated. Can Dr. Rifat still help?

Please get in touch. Dr. Rifat trained specifically in caring for medically complex patients, and spent nearly two decades in hospital dentistry. She will review the medical history, examine carefully, and tell you honestly what is possible.
